Member Profile:
Kristen Ross, Kappa Lambda, UCSD/Zeta Beta, UofA
What was your Chi Omega experience?
I was a founding member of UCSD's Kappa Lambda chapter, which was an opportunity of a lifetime.
I was "spirit chairman" for our founding class.
Why did you switch from UCSD to UofA?
I wasn't happy at UCSD and my ChiO sisters helped me finish the year in good standing. I was elected model initiate of that class, which I still consider to be a huge honor. Because I was the model initiate of a founding class, I was initiated not by a big sister, but by the national president at the time, Roselynn T. Dabbs.
I then transferred to U of A and graduated in 1994.
What is your life like today?
I live in Central Phoenix with my two children, Matthew, four, Nathan, one, and I'm expecting in January. I really hope I have a daughter I can share this experience with and if not, I'm certain I'll get to pass on the legacy somehow!
I returned to work after being a stay-at-home mom for the last five years. I work half-time at the Molecular Profiling Institute (the for-profit entity of TGen) in the R & D department developing clinical genetic tests.
What are some of your favorite activities?
I enjoy taking my kids to the zoo, science center, and the beautiful new art museum.
